Dr. Badr completed her bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery as well as her master's degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Mansoura, Egypt. She is an assistant lecturer at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology with the University of Mansoura in Egypt. She received a scholarship from the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education to pursue her PhD with the University of Alberta. She joined Dr. Halloran’s laboratory in 2007 with her thesis focused on understanding transcripts expressed by human myeloid cells and how they relate to transcripts expressed in rejecting human renal allografts.
