Over the last decade, the Alberta Transplant Applied Genomics Centre (ATAGC) has developed research services related to our core infrastructure and expertise.
Most recently we utilized gene chip technology to provide the first comprehensive molecular assessment of biopsies - the Molecular Microscope™ (MMDx™), a completely new system for assessing disease.
We also provide advanced services in four core areas: Transcript assessment and interpretation in biopsies, Advanced Pathology & Imaging, Cell Culture, Immunology & Clinical, and Computational Biology & Biostatistics. In the future we will extend our services to proteomics and metabolomics through joint ventures with other centres within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. We focus on the application of current technologies and computational tools to aid the understanding, diagnosis, and prevention of human disease. As such, our comprehensive services are currently serving hospitals, pharmaceutical firms, and academic centers around the world. In addition, we support research within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry including: the Cross Cancer Institute, Rehabilitation Medicine, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and other areas such as Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Biological Sciences.
